ABA-PGT Announces New Apprentice Program
Manchester, CT, USA February 7, 2012 – ABA-PGT Inc., the leading fully integrated producer of high-precision tooling and high-volume precision-molded plastic gears and other technical molded parts has initiated a new Toolmaker Apprenticeship program.
The company has announced this step as part of its strategy to ensure future ABA-PGT toolmakers have the skills required to continue the tradition and reputation that ABA-PGT has developed as one of the finest makers of high precision tooling in the world. This newly developed program will give apprentice toolmakers hands on experience in all aspects of tool building including materials, heat treating, milling, turning, finish or surface grinding, jig grinding, OD grinding, EDM, CAD/CAM, and mold maintenance. .
"ABA-PGT has a reputation of producing the finest tooling and it is important we continue to be known by our customers as the best tooling maker in the market." says VP of Tooling, Bob Hazelton. "Training has always been an important part of our strategy to ensure we supply quality products and services to our customers. This Apprentice Program is part of our Continuous Improvement strategy to keep our company at the top of the list when customers think of quality tooling and molded parts. It will also help keep us abreast of global technological advancements and help keep our highly skilled workforce prepared to meet our customer's expectations" stated Hazelton. "We are delighted to be announcing this Apprentice Program to the benefit of current and future employees, our customers, and our business."
This new program has been designed specifically to achieve the high standards demanded at ABA-PGT, Inc. In order for candidates to attain their journeyman certification, they will have to successfully complete 10,000 hours (5-7 Years full time) of the program while passing the grade in each of the above mentioned categories. Upon completion they will receive certification to a journeyman status.

Hazelton as its Vice President of Tooling. Bob has significant successful experience in the Plastics Industry, including working for ABA-PGT for over 10 years. He rejoins the company after a brief time away where he worked in engineering, sales, and project management for a medical molding company.

European Representative Appointed as Part of ABA-PGT Expansion

ABA-PGT Awarded ISO TS 16949 Automotive Certification
Precision Plastic Gear Company Debuts European Presence at Hannover Fair,
Booth PTDA pavilion in Hall 24, Stand D23/B4
Manchester, CT, USA March 29, 2011 – ABA-PGT Inc., the leading producer of high precision tooling and precision-molded plastic gears, has been awarded the ISO TS 16949 Automotive Certification.
ABA-PGT currently provides a variety of plastic gear solutions for automotive applications including; dashboard instrumentation, lift gates, windshield wiper motors, door latch and seat adjustor mechanisms for Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Scania, and Volkswagen vehicles. The attaining of the ISO TS 16949 certification expands its opportunities in the global automotive industry.
ISO is an International Organization for Standardization whose TS 16949 certification aligns American, German, French, Italian and Japanese automotive quality systems standards within the global automotive industry.

As the newest Hardinge turning center, the Super Precision (SP) RS65MY is designed to handle the most stringent machining requirements and complete in a single set-up an array of multi-tasking features.
Thomas R.
